Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

David Walliams

Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
